Dr. Quill served as a parish pastor for fifteen years in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. He received a B.S. Educ. from Concordia Teachers College in 1971, and his M.Div. and S.T.M. from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1980 and 1993 respectively. In 1996 he received a Masters of Philosophy from Drew University followed by a Ph.D. upon completion of his dissertation in 2002. The title of his dissertation is “An Examination of the Contributions of Theodosius Harnack to the Renewal of the Liturgy in the Ninteenth Century.” He has served as Director of the Russian Project at CTS since 1996. In this position he has traveled extensively to Russia and the former nations of the Soviet Union, overseen the recruitment of approximately 40 students from the Russia and the C.I.S. to study on the Fort Wayne campus, assisted in the establishment of Lutheran Theological Seminary in Novosibirsk, Siberia and organized theological seminars in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus and Lithuania. Since 2002 he has served as Dean of International Studies. Professor Quill teaches liturgy, homiletics and missions. Dr. Quill and his wife Annette (nee Ziebell) have one daughter Kathryn.
