PASTORAL MINISTRY & MISSIONS COURSES
NOTES:

Certain courses make reference to note numbers at the end of the course description. Below is the table of notes for the Pastoral Ministry & Missions courses.

  1. Prerequisites: EXT 115 Biblical Hermeneutics and PMM 142 Lutheran Worship
  2. Prerequisite: PMM 143 Homiletics I
  3. Restricted to Seminary IV students or delayed vicars.
  4. One-half credit may be earned per quarter by membership in this course. The student may earn a maximum of three hours of elective credits for participating in any choral group.
  5. Prerequisite: PMM 243 Parish Education
  6. Non-credit course
  7. Prerequisites: PMM 143 Homiletics I and PMM 240 Homiletics II
  8. PMM 411 Preaching Workshop (Spanish) is an alternate to PMM 440 Preaching Workshop.
  9. PMMP 437 Christian Education in Hispanic Contexts is an alternate to PMM 243 Parish Education.
  10. Prerequisite: PMMP 570 Ministry to the Aging or department approval
  11. A working knowledge of Greek is required.
  12. PMM 241 Crisis and Pastoral Care is an alternate to PMM 244 Pastoral Care and Counseling.
  13. Prerequisite: PMM 144 Introduction to Missions
  14. PMMP 143 Introduction to Hispanic Ministries may be substituted for PMM 144 Introduction to Missions.
  15. PMMP 245 Evangelism in Hispanic Contexts may be substituted for PMM 247 Evangelism in the Congregation.
  16. Pre-seminary (undergraduate) credit is also available. See the Registrar for additional information.
  17. All courses are three credits unless otherwise stated.
  18. Enrollment limited to M.Div. and Alternate Route students.
  19. Required course for all incoming students beginning with the 1998/99 academic year.
