Confirmation Retreat at CTSFW Explores Importance of Apostle’s Creed

The library mural shows how the Word of God has been passed on from generation to generation.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (CTSFW)—February 16–18 marks this spring’s Christ Academy Confirmation Retreat at Concordia Theological Seminary (CTSFW), Fort Wayne. Designed to complement the ongoing instruction that confirmands receive from their pastor, the retreat will cover the topic “We Believe: Why the Creed Matters Today.”

Both students and chaperones will have the chance to study the Creed, gaining a stronger understanding of how this biblical and historical confession grounds Christians in a postmodern world in absolute truth told absolutely in God’s own words. Rev. Matthew J. Wietfeldt, director of Christ Academy, will present. “God’s Word speaks this confession into us,” he explained, “not only to inform us but even more to form us as faithful and confessional Christians.”

The retreat costs $110 per person and includes on-campus housing and meals. To find out more, go to www.ctsfw.edu/confirmation-retreat. Register by emailing Retreats@ctsfw.edu or by calling 260.452.2204.
