Christ For All Time

GIVING SOCIETIES
"Assuring Pastors for our Children and Grandchildren"

"Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.'" Matt. 9:37-38

Concordia Theological Seminary is pleased to introduce you to the "Christ for All Time" Student Support Initiative. This annual gifting program seeks to connect all the "friends of Concordia Theological Seminary" directly to the support of our pastoral candidates and their families.

Most candidates spend three full years on campus along with a year of vicarage study in the field. Throughout their formation they are encouraged to become pastors noted for integrity of spirit, clarity of mind, charity of heart, and centrality of mission.

Facilitating their academic, spiritual, and pastoral formation takes the dedicated work of each candidate and the dedicated support of thousands of caring people.

Minimizing costs for students and their families is essential to the pastoral candidate. Many are already repaying educational loans from their undergraduate programs. Supporting tuition and family assistance programs, as well as general operations secures the ability of the Seminary to recruit and train pastoral candidates.

With the initiation of the "Christ for All Time" Student Support Initiative, any gift received without designations on usage will be directed to a specific student aid need or the general operating fund, as noted on the following pages. As always, all gifts received with donor designations will be used as requested by the donor.

Regardless of the type of gift given (designated or undesignated) each donor will be recognized as a member of one of the seven Concordia Theological Seminary annual gift "societies."

Giving Society Membership

All donors to the "Christ for All Time" Student Support Initiative will be recognized as a member of an annual giving society. Membership materials will be distributed each year. Members are invited, as guests of the seminary, to attend one of the monthly brunches held on campus, as well as a specified recognition event hosted by the President.

Making a Gift

Every gift to the "Christ for All Time" Student Support Initiative directly aids students. These annual gifts underwrite the tuition assistance program, general operations, the Food and Clothing Co-ops, and all other family assistance programs.

Each year, the Financial Aid Office estimates the general costs for a student and his family to attend Concordia Theological Seminary and to earn a Master of Divinity degree. The statistics for 2003-2004 indicate the following:

Because these figures are annual estimates, it is the goal of the "Christ for All Time" Student Support Initiative to encourage sponsors to make three-year or five-year pledges to continue the Seminary's history of financial integrity. Even so, all gifts, regardless of their size, are essential.
