The "Father of the Reformation" began his ministry as a Roman Catholic monk whose reverential study of the Scriptures compelled him to take a new look at the doctrines of the church. His scholarly approach to the study of God's Word and his deep conviction to "Justification by Faith" remain the guiding principles behind the training of pastors at Concordia Theological Seminary.
