Charles Ford Dr. Charles Ford is currently a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Saint Louis University, Saint Louis, Missouri. He earned his B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL, and his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Oregon. Dr. Ford has been studying about Dietrich Bonhoeffer since the late 1960’s. He joined the International Bonhoeffer Society in 1984. Since 1990, Dr. Ford has written articles on Bonhoeffer, which have been published, including five in the journal Lutheran Forum. His writings emphasize the confessional Lutheran nature of Bonhoeffer’s theology; specifically they note the differences that developed between Bonhoeffer and Karl Barth. Uwe Siemon-Netto Dr. Uwe Siemon-Netto earned his M.A. from Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and his Ph.D. from Boston University. In 2004, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Letters. Dr. Siemon-Netto was born in Leipzig, Germany, and has served in many different areas. His accomplishments include: covering the construction of the Berlin Wall as slot editor at The Associated Press, Frankfurt, Bonn, Berlin; he was a correspondent for the Springer Foreign News Service, which allowed him to cover the Vietnam War over a period of five years; and he also published his M.A. thesis, The Acquittal of God, a Theology for Vietnam Veterans, which attempts to apply Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s theology of the cross to the plight of Vietnam veterans. Dr. Siemon-Netto is currently the Director on Lay Vocation at Concordia Seminary Institute, Saint Louis, Missouri. He is also a research scholar at the Institute on Religion and World Affairs, Boston University. Dr. Siemon-Netto is a religious commentator on the Issues, Etc. radio program. He is also a free-lance correspondent for various German magazines. |
