Why CTSFW?

Lutheran Confessions

The Lutheran Confessions as found in the Book of Concord are the guide and measure for the historical interpretation of the Scripture and the Christian faith. Just as generations before us, we still believe, teach and confess the truth of the Confessions.

Faith Alone

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1, ESV)

Word and Sacrament

“Also they teach that one holy Church is to continue forever. The Church is the congregation of saints, in which the Gospel is rightly taught and the Sacraments are rightly administered.” (Augsburg Confession VII, 1)

Grace Alone

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9, ESV)

Scripture Alone

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”
(2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV)
