Room Phones: There are telephones in each resident hall room. Your
regular phone service bill will be included in your room and board and
will be billed by the school's academic quarters. Click here
for instructions on how to use your phone.
Voice Mail: Voice Mail is available to all students living in the
resident hall. Please keep your voice mail up to date by changing the
name and message when you arrive in your room. An instructional sheet
should be in your room, if not, contact your resident assistant. For
more detailed information, see the Voice Mail Quick Reference Guide, or a copy can be
picked up in the Information Technology Office (W-14) to help you.
Long Distance: A four-digit authorization code, may be obtained from
Marge Gruber, the telecommunications manager, (W-14) ext. 2260, and this
code will work from any phone on campus. You must have a code to make
long distance calls unless you have your own calling card. Long
distance service through GTE will be ten cents per minute all the time
for all domestic calls. International call costs will vary based on the
country called. You will be billed monthly, not quarterly for your long
distance calls. Because long distance service is a privilege, it is
expected that you will keep your payments current. In severe cases, your
phone will be disconnected if your bill is not paid.
Lounge phones: Please limit your calls from the phone in the resident
hall lounge to 30 minutes or less. Please do not hook up your computer
modem to the lounge resident hall phone line.
