Title:Use of Computers in the Library

News & Notes from
Walther Library
 1998–99 School Year, Issue #1 (September 1998), p. 2

Welcome (back) to campus!         Use of Computers in the Library       Meet Our New Staff (Part 1)

For a first offense against acceptable use, a record will be filed with the Public Services Librarian. For a second offense, the student will be sent to the Dean of Students, together with the record of the first and current offense. For a third (and any additional) offense, the student will be sent to the Dean of Students, with the record. In addition, the Public Services Librarian will send to the Chairman of the Certification and Placement Committee a report of all offenses of the student and actions taken.

If you have any question about this policy and procedure, please speak to the Rev. Richard Lammert, Public Services Librarian, or call him at x3148.

Meet Our New Staff (Part 1)

NEW STAFF MEMBERS IN THE LIBRARY ARE AVAILABLE TO HELP YOU USE THE LIBRARY’S MANY RESOURCES

If you are a returning vicar, you will notice several new faces in the library, all of them ready to serve you. Actually, two of the faces are not new to campus, but are new as part of the library staff.

The Director of Library and Information Services, the Rev. Prof. Robert Roethemeyer, started just over a year ago, in June 1997.
He comes to us from “the other seminary,” where he was Public Services Librarian for almost ten years. Since coming to Fort Wayne, he has worked hard to coordinate both library and computer services, successfully bringing the library through an accreditation visit last spring. Robert is married to Kay; they have one daughter, Christina, who is in the fifth grade. You can reach him at x2146.

The new Access Services Coordinator, Mrs. Stephanie Bamsch, started in January 1998. She works at the circulation desk to coordinate the student workers and to help everyone locate what he or she needs to find in the library. You can check with her for everything from trying to find missing books, to locating books on closed reserve and discussing library fines. Stephanie  has actually lived in Fort Wayne for four years, since she is married to Duane, who graduated last spring from the seminary; Duane stayed on this year to be graduate assistant in the exegetical department while he pursues S.T.M. work. You can reach Stephanie at x3145.

The Public Services Librarian, the Rev. Richard Lammert, is not new to the campus, since he was a student from 1994 to 1998. When he graduated last spring, the seminary decided to call him to the library. Although the official reason given was that Richard would be a good addition to the staff, he privately wonders whether the seminary didn’t think he needed a little more shaping and formation before letting him loose in the world. Richard is married to Diane. You can reach him at x3148.
