Ready or not-it's here

TECHNOLOGY IS MAKING A TREMENDOUS IMPACT ON ALL AREAS OF THE SEMINARY COMMUNITY, INCLUDING THE LIBRARY. THE CHANGES WILL ULTIMATELY HELP YOU WORK BETTER.

If you have been keeping your nose to the grindstone and buried in a book (or is this mixing too many contradictory metaphors?), you might have missed all the technological changes on the seminary campus, and especially in the library. In this issue of our library newsletter, we focus on some of the new tools this technological change has made available to you.

The changes you see in the library are the result of having an up-to-date networked library. We have changed from using stand-alone, single-purpose terminals to using interconnected, multi-purpose PC workstations. Such interconnection allows you to do your work more quickly (and, with some thought behind it, better).

We haven't finished making changes. With a grant from the Lilly Endowment, we will be moving to Web-based catalog access and networked CD-ROMs during this school year. Watch for additional information in future issues of News & Notes.
