Changes Everywhere!

If you are a fourth-year student, you know that return-ing to campus after vicarage can at times be perplexing. Changes have taken place that you weren't aware of; offices have moved-and things at the library have changed. For those who are leaving on vicarage this summer, and plan on returning to the seminary for your fourth year in the fall of 2003: be forewarned; even more changes will happen. Concordia Theological Seminary, along with the other colleges and seminaries of PALNI, will be replacing our entire automated library system. By the beginning of the fall semester, 2003, we will have migrated to an Ex Libris ALEPH 500 system for all our cataloging and circulation control. (Yes, that's "aleph," as in the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The system began in Israel.) The bad news: you will have to learn a new system for searching in our catalog. The good news: better responsiveness in the system, new capabilities (finding out what you have checked out on your own), expand-ed linking to Web and digital resources. Yes, changes everywhere-but all to provide better service to you.
