Farewell and Godspeed
As many of you leave the campus of Concordia Theo-logical
Seminary after the close of the spring quarter, we wish you farewell and
Godspeed.
To those leaving to take your first call, we wish you all
God's blessings as you prepare to serve the flock which God has placed
under your care. You have worked hard to learn what you need to know (although
you may find out that you don't yet know it all), and are now ready to
step into your vocation as a called and ordained pastor. May the Lord
strengthen you in the faith as you do the day-to-day work of the ministry.
To those leaving to serve a vicarage, we wish you a large
measure of enjoyment as you continue your education with people at the
parish level. May God grant you to learn what you need to know to serve
His people better when you receive your first call-or better, may God
grant you to learn that you still don't know everything, so that you will
be able to serve His people with a knowledge of your own limitations.
To those returning to homes outside of America, we wish
you God's blessings as you serve Him in your own countries. We look forward
to seeing you here again at the seminary (if you come this way) or around
God's throne in heaven.
