Title:Biblical Reference Shifted

BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS CLASSIFICATION “BS” HAVE BEEN SHIFTED

As you come into the library this fall, you won’t notice much difference in what you see. You will still find ready reference stands on each level, Reformation history on the mezzanine, periodicals on the main floor, and Biblical studies on the lower level.

If you take a closer look at the Biblical Reference section (reference classification “BS”), you will certainly notice that there has been a change. The beginning of the Biblical Reference section is where it used to be: immediately to your left around the corner as you come to the bottom of the stairs. But instead of continuing on the shelves on the other side of the stairs (across from the computers), the section now continues directly adjacent to the elevator, where the circulating BS section used to be. This brings the entire Biblical Reference section adjacent to the study carrels, making it easier to use the books.

Of course, since the reference section now takes up space that the circulating collection was in, the circulating BS collection now begins at the shelves on the west side of the reading area at the bottom of the stairs.

You will continue to notice gaps in the printed periodicals as we continue the work we mentioned in our April newsletter. Remember: if you have trouble finding something, please ask at the circulation desk. We are always ready to help you locate what you need.
