(Fort Wayne, IN) -The Rev. David Kind has joined the ordained staff at Concordia Theological Seminary (CTS) as an admissions counselor. He officially began his duties at the end of March. "One of God’s richest blessings upon the seminary in recent years has been the presence of pastoral staff who have recommended the Holy Ministry on theological grounds that hold up the richness and substance of the pastoral calling," said Dr. Dean O. Wenthe, President of CTS. "The Rev. David Kind brings the combination of a pastoral heart and theological clarity that precisely focuses the prospective seminarians reflections on the sacred wonder and challenge of preparing to be a pastor. We are delighted that the Holy Spirit has brought Pastor Kind to assist us in this exciting time for theological education." A 1996 CTS graduate, Kind previously served a dual parish at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf, Minn. and St. John Lutheran Church in Minnesota Lake, Minn. before accepting the call to the seminary. "I look forward to the challenge and opportunity of working with the men of our Church who are taking some of their first steps in preparing for the Office of the Holy Ministry and of leading them to study at CTS," said Rev. Kind. "I believe the seminary offers the best theological education available and is vital to the future and well-being of our Synod. Only well trained men formed by the Scriptural and Sacramental theology which is so alive at CTS can lead our churches in the direction our Lord would have them go. My wife and I are very excited about my being to be part of this extremely important work of recruiting and training men for the Holy Office and I look forward to joining the seminary family." Joining the Rev. Scott Klemsz, Director of Admission and Public Relations at CTS, and Revs. Todd Peperkorn and Scott Stiegemeyer, both admissions counselors at CTS, Rev. Kind’s main responsibility will be to meet prospective students and encourage them to pursue the Office of the Holy Ministry. Rev. Kind and his wife Dana will live in Fort Wayne. "We are excited to have Rev. Kind join our seminary community," said the Rev. Scott Klemsz. "Pastor Kind’s talent and love for God’s people will be a wonderful asset as we continue to expand and refine the Office of Admission and Public Relations at CTS for the coming decade of service to the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod."
