Spring Invitational Campus Visit Set for September 25-27, 2008
By Rev. Scott Stiegemeyer
The Gospel in a nutshell says that God loved the world. Popular music says much about love these days. "All you need is love." Or "Love will keep us together." But what is love? For many, it seems that love is just a feeling that comes and goes. With God, however, love is never mere sentiment. Love involves action. Even more, it involves giving oneself. The Bible does not say God loved the world so that He had a warm feeling or thought a happy thought about us. No, it says that He gave Himself to us so that all who believe might know everlasting life. While the world languishes in sadness and sorrow, the Church cheerfully rejoices in the saving deeds of God.
Have you considered becoming a pastor in Christ's Church? Do you desire to love and feed His flock? Have you contemplated the vocation of deaconess, extending the mercy arm of the Church to those in need? Are you eager to seek and reach the lost with the miracles of grace? Come to our Invitational Campus Visit held from September 25-27 to meet with seminary faculty and students. Hear about our programs of study and learn about the aid that is available to help you become a pastor in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Seminary education is an adventure in itself. You will never be the same. So perhaps now is the time and this March will be your opportunity to learn how to enter an exhilarating life of prayer, study and service at the seminary.
The pastoral ministry is fulfilling, sometimes heartbreaking, work. Our Lord promises a cross but the empty tomb is never far. The hour is late and the need is urgent so phone us at (260) 452-2155 or (800) 481-2155 today.
