Concordia Experience

By Tim Storck

What is the Concordia experience? Every person you would talk to might say something completely different, but all would agree that Christ and His presence in the Word and Sacrament is the most important part. Each Concordia is uniquely different in its location, campus, and student body. This is true for Concordia Nebraska as well.

When coming to any college we think of long nights, meeting new friends, and naps between classes. But Concordias are more than that. We do have the long nights and naps, but at the same time we are building relationships with one another and with Christ. As a part of the pre-seminary program here at Seward, we are involved in Greek, Hebrew, and philosophy classes along with any major. Classes are not the only thing we are involved in. The pre-sem club is also involved in doing activities around campus and in the community. From helping at the Habitat for Humanity house to our annual picnic, the men, young and old, have a common bond that has brought us all together the desire to serve Christ

Concordia has daily chapel services and evening services two days a week that most of the student body attends. With the majority of the student body living on campus, students can become close to others. There are activities that go on all the time from sporting events, dances, and bible studies. At the same time Lincoln, Neb., is only 30 minutes away so if you feel lonely in the small town the big city is only minutes away. It is never too hard to find something to do around Concordia or someone to do it with.

Finally, if you decide to attend Concordia Nebraska or any of the other Concordias, you will be a part of the Concordia family, which is just a small part of the body of Christ. Anywhere you go you may run into someone who has attended a Concordia University System school and know that you have something in common, not just attending a CUS institution, but that the Word was the center of their education. Come and visit, you are always welcome. Blessings on your decision!

Tim Storck is a Junior in the Pre-Seminary program at Concordia University Nebraska.
