CTS Faculty and Staff Receive Honors

FORT WAYNE, IN (CTS)—Two members of the Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, family have received special honors from Concordia University—Nebraska and Concordia University—Wisconsin.

On Saturday, May 5, 2012, Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska, bestowed the Doctor of Laws degree on Rev. Albert B. Wingfield, Vice President of Business Affairs at CTS, in recognition of his dedication to growing the church and expanding Christian education at home and abroad.  Rev. Wingfield is a 1964 graduate of then Concordia Teachers College.

On Saturday, May 19, 2012, Dr. Dean O. Wenthe, Professor of Exegetical Theology and President Emeritus of CTS, will be the recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Concordia University, Mequon, Wisconsin. This award is to give recognition to an alumnus who has consistently demonstrated faithful stewardship of his talents and has rendered notable service to the church and to the University.  Dr. Wenthe is a 1965 graduate of what was then called Concordia College.

Rast Jr., CTS President. “Through their continued contributions they are worthy models for our students who are learning that service to our Lord and to His church is a lifelong vocation.”
