A Message from the President
Concordia Theological Seminary is one of God’s great gifts to the
church, and it is the people—the Board, faculty, staff, and especially our students—whom God has
gathered here who make it such a gift. As we
step forward, we know there are challenges before us; we know there are changes
that we will experience. But one thing never changes, and that is the grace of
God in Jesus Christ for each and every one of us, who has called us by name in
our Baptisms, set us apart to be His own, and given
us the promise of everlasting life.
The Lord Jesus has given us our mission and promises to bless us as we
lead people to know the only true God through Jesus Christ, whom He has sent, as the way, the truth, and the life. And so, we invite you to join us
in new ventures in forming servants in Jesus Christ who
teach the faithful,
reach the lost, and care for all.
Rev. Dr. Lawrence R. Rast Jr.

Concordia Theological Seminary
Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
Concordia Theological Seminary remains true to its founding
mission: to provide pastors and missionaries to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus
Christ. On the foundation of more than 160 years of service, Concordia
Theological Seminary will continue to provide the light to the path of a
darkened world needing to see their Savior. We will do this by:
- Serving the Lutheran
Church in the United States
and around the world by preparing men and women for various vocations of
service to Christ’s sheep.
- Attracting and retaining a distinguished
faculty who form our future pastors and deaconesses.
- Maintaining and developing programs and
services consistent with the Lutheran Confessions and responsive to the
spiritual needs of our society.
- Continuing to be good stewards of the
gifts God has entrusted to us.
- Continuing to be theologically faithful
as we serve Christ’s mission with excellence.
