RETREAT TO THE SEMINARY
Opportunities for Music Organist Workshops 2008 These workshops are designed for parish organists of varying ability levels to help increase their knowledge and skills on this important instrument of the church. Organist Primer - June 16-20 (Hildebrand) Level I - July 14-18 (Resch) For additional information, go to the Organist Workshop web page, or contact the CTS Music Department at 260-452-2224 or email at organworkshops@ctsfw.edu. November 2-4 - Good Shepherd Institute With the successful introduction of Lutheran Service Book into our congregations, pastors, musicians, and the people of God are now seeking ways to do the liturgy well. Christ is present with His gifts whether the liturgy, preaching, and hymn singing is done well or done poorly. Yet our liturgical worship is an invitation by Christ himself to enter into communion with Him -- the Creator and Redeemer of the cosmos. In the presence of the Holy One of God we are to receive these gifts and respond to them with the passionate confidence of saints who know who they are and where they are going, and with the welcoming hospitality of pilgrims summoned home in Christ. This conference will accent how to do Lutheran liturgy and hymnody well, accenting practical ways in which pastors and musicians may assist the people of God to embody the faith in their worship. For further information concerning the Good Shepherd Institute, check out their website: www.goodshepherdinstitute.org, or contact the CTS Music Department at 260-452-2224, or email gsi@ctsfw.edu. |
