Dear Brothers in Christ:

Greetings in the name of our risen and ascended Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I hope that your summer is both relaxing and enjoyable. As we approach a new academic year, I would like those who have athletic interests and experience to consider becoming a member of our Concordia Theological Seminary basketball team, the "King’s Men". Our seminary’s inter-scholastic basketball team offers a unique experience. We are a team that is different in some ways from other intercollegiate teams. Our team has neither an age limit for participants nor years of eligibility considerations.

The goal of our basketball team is to provide brotherly fellowship, proper exercise, and an excellent outlet from your studies. You will develop new relationships with other seminarians as you discuss theology and other interests as well. Also, your presence on the team is a visible witness to our Savior whenever we interact with our Seminary community, fans, opponents and friends.

Our schedule is being finalized and we will have approximately 16 games for the season. Our first practice sessions begins in late September. On average we practice 3 days a week. Included on our schedule will be the Concordia Tip-Off Tournament here in Fort Wayne in November which includes our sister, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. We also have an away series in St. Louis with Concordia Seminary hosting the "Preacher Classic" in January.

Seminary basketball is an enjoyable experience. Fond memories are gathered and developed, character is sharpened and disciplined, and new relationships are built and strengthened that last throughout your future ministry.

I hope you will strongly consider being part of our basketball team. If you have any questions, I would be happy to discuss "King’s Men" basketball with you. I can be reached by my campus phone, 260-452-2152, at home, 484-4726 or via e-mail: pulstr@ctsfw.edu. See you in the gym!

In Christ's service,

Rev. Timothy R. Puls
