Next Week at CTSFW: Deaconess Placement, Baccalaureate, and Commencement
Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW), is preparing for a busy week May 13–17 as the 178th academic year wraps up. In addition to celebrating with alumni at the annual Alumni Reunion May 16–17, the Seminary will be announcing deaconess placements Thursday, May 16, and holding Baccalaureate Matins and Commencement Exercises Friday, May 17. Please join us on campus or via livestream for these special events.
Deaconess Placement
Thursday, May 16; 10 a.m. in Kramer Chapel
Placements will be announced at the end of the 10 a.m. chapel service.

2024 Commencement Exercises
Friday, May 17, at 4 p.m. in Kramer Chapel
Commencement Speaker: Rev. Theodore Krey, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, LCMS Office of International Mission
Several individuals will be honored at Commencement, including speaker Rev. Theodore Krey, who is receiving the 2024 Alumnus of the Year Award. Additional honorees include:
- Rev. Dr. Lawrence R. Rast Jr., Doctor of Divinity, Honoris Causa
- Rev. James Wiggins Sr., Doctor of Divinity, Honoris Causa
- Mr. William and Mrs. Audrey Dahlgren, Miles Christi Award (Soldier of Christ)
- Mr. Arvold and Mrs. Carol Fischer, Miles Christi Award (awarded posthumously for Carol)
- Mrs. Gloria Keller, Miles Christi Award
- Rev. Walter and Mrs. Ruth Otten, Miles Christi Award
- Mr. Robert Trapp, Miles Christi Award
