Special Worship and Music Events During Symposia Week
Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW), will host three late-afternoon worship and music events January 21–23 during its annual Symposia Week. (Congregations, please share the information below with your members as you see fit.)
Evening Prayer with the CTSFW Kantorei will be held Tuesday, January 21, at 5 p.m. ET in Kramer Chapel. The service will begin with the Kantorei’s signature hymn setting for the Epiphany season, “Of the Father’s Love Begotten,” in an arrangement by the choir’s founder, Kantor Richard Resch.
On Wednesday, January 22, at 5 p.m. (ET), join us for Vespers and a short organ recital by CTSFW Kantor Kevin Hildebrand.
The final event on Thursday, January 23, at 5 p.m (ET) is Symposia Choral Vespers with the Schola Cantorum in Kramer Chapel. Repertoire for the Schola Cantorum will include excerpts from Bach Cantata 9, “Salvation unto Us Has Come,” a setting of Psalm 98 by Heinrich Schütz, and a hymn arrangement for choir, congregation, and orchestra by Carl Schalk.
All events are free and open to the public, regardless of whether or not you are attending Symposia. If you can’t make it in person, catch the livestream at ctsfw.edu/daily-chapel
