2025 Continuing Education Offerings
Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW), is offering over forty Continuing Education courses this year, most of which are scheduled for this summer. If you love studying theology and wish you had more time to dive into a topic than the typical Bible study hour, CE courses are for you.
“Once again, CTSFW is happy to offer a robust Continuing Education calendar,” said Dr. Jeffrey Pulse, director of Continuing Education. “With sites across the United States (and Canada), pastors and laypeople will have the opportunity to learn and grow in their theological knowledge and apply this learning and enhance ministry.”
Courses, which are generally two to three days long, are taught by CTSFW professors and other theology experts and cover a wide range of topics, including
- Pastoral Care in Cases of Divorce and Remarriage (June 16–18; Lisbon, ND)
- The History of the LCMS and Applications for Today (June 26–28; Lawrence, KS)
- Planting Churches in the First Century (July 22–24; Grass Valley, CA)
- Confronting Confusion about the End Times (August 5–7; Mechanicsburg, PA)
- Bioethics (October 6–8; Chattanooga, TN)
“Continuing Education courses are practical but also challenging,” said the Rev. Dr. David Petersen, one of CTSFW’s CE instructors. “Formal study with subject matter experts helps to keep the mind sharp and to alert preachers to current trends and threats in theology. Perhaps just as important, CE also cultivates joy in theology. It feeds faith, builds camaraderie, and re-energizes preachers for their holy work.”
For most courses, the registration fee is $175 for pastors and professional church workers and $125 for retired pastors and laypeople, with 1.5 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits awarded to pastors. CTSFW vicars and fieldwork/vicarage supervisors may take one CE course free of charge.
