The Provost’s Scholarship

CTSFW Merit Pastoral Diaconal

The CTSFW Provost’s Scholarship is granted to incoming students with high theological acumen, significant life experience and service to the church, and leadership potential for future pastoral ministry and deaconess service. The academic and work achievements of the incoming student are both taken into consideration.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Completed CTSFW application for admission.
2. Normally, a minimum GPA of 3.45 out of 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
3. May be able to demonstrate knowledge of either biblical Greek or biblical Hebrew (for pastoral candidates); special consideration is given to students with knowledge of modern languages.
4. May have significant service in a leadership role within the church.
5. May have notable career achievements and work experiences.
6. Academic writing sample (preferably in the area of theology) and/or documented service in the church, and/or community (to be included on the scholarship application form).
7. May be interviewed by CTSFW faculty members to determine scholarship finalists.
8. Two (2) letters of reference (completed by current or former professors, pastors or other church leaders, work supervisors and colleagues, etc.); letters should be sent to AdmissionScholarships@ctsfw.edu.

Amount

  • 100% tuition coverage (as part of the current tuition coverage program)
  • Room costs (or the equivalent for off-campus students)
