Biography

The Rev. Dr. Ryan Tietz joined the faculty of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW) in 2015. He is passionate about exploring and teaching the prophets, wisdom literature, Old Testament eschatology, and Hebrew poetry. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Tietz has also served as Dean of Students since 2021.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University, Nebraska, and his Master of Divinity degree and Master of Sacred Theology degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He received his PhD at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois, in the fall of 2018, examining the theme of the delay of salvation in the book of Isaiah.

Tietz has served in multiple parish settings including as assistant pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, Schenectady, New York, as well as interim pastor in several congregations in the Chicago area. His teaching experience includes multiple courses in theology and Hebrew as an adjunct instructor at Concordia University Chicago.

He and his wife, Jeanine, have two children, Isaiah and Amaya.
