### **Join** the Tradition

Christ Academy consists of three important elements: confessional catechesis, liturgical
worship, and life together in Christ. This tradition of learning, worship, and Christian
fellowship provides the foundation for all of our Christ Academy offerings. Whether
you’re confirmation age, in high school or college, or a parent, there’s a Christ
Academy event for you.

### History

Christ Academy began in the summer of 1999 as a two-week immersive experience for
fifteen high school-aged men. The Seminary recognized a hunger for robust theology
and an opportunity for catechesis, leading young men and women into church work,
and Christ Academy grew. The summer experience expanded to Timothy School for young
men and Phoebe School for young women. Over time, a confirmation retreat, college
weekend, and family institute were added to provide catechesis and facilitate discernment
for many ages. Over 1,200 participants and nearly 100 pastors are now proud alumni
of this faithful, Christ-centered, impactful program.

### **Confirmation** Retreat

Designed to enrich and complement confirmation instruction, Christ Academy Confirmation
Retreats offer students who are currently receiving confirmation instruction an
opportunity to explore one of the Six Chief Parts of Luther’s Small Catechism in
a weekend retreat, held in both spring and fall.

### Christ Academy **High School**

Christ Academy High School, a two-week summer program, is geared toward theologically
curious high school students, especially those who are thinking about becoming pastors
or deaconesses. Timothy School allows high school-aged young men to explore pastoral
ministry, while Phoebe School allows young women to explore God’s Word on mercy
and meet deaconesses. Both programs emphasize theological study, Lutheran worship,
and social connections with peers who share the same faith. Christ Academy registration
opens every December, and seats fill quickly.

### Christ Academy **College**

Christ Academy College is a long weekend retreat held each fall for college-aged
students who are considering seminary study or other vocations of service. At this
free retreat, attendees attend chapel and classes, interact with faculty members,
experience campus life, and meet others who share their faith.

### **Family** Institute

Perfect for parents, families, and church workers interested in growing in their
care and love for one another, the Christ Academy Family Institute helps attendees
pass on the faith to future generations. Attendees worship together, learn together,
and enjoy time in community with other Lutherans in this weekend retreat held each
summer.
