Rejoice! Christ came to earth
for you!
Of the Father’s love begotten,
Ere the worlds began to be,
He is Alpha and Omega,
He the source, the ending He,
Of the things that are, that have been,
And that future years shall see,
Evermore and evermore.
Ere the worlds began to be,
He is Alpha and Omega,
He the source, the ending He,
Of the things that are, that have been,
And that future years shall see,
Evermore and evermore.
“Of the Father’s Love Begotten” (LSB 384)
Saints throughout the ages have been singing the same faith, and they’ve rested that faith in the same One we do: our Lord Jesus Christ, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God.
This Christmas, I pray that you’ll join in the song of the ancient seers: “Let no tongue on earth be silent, ev’ry voice in concert ring”—to the praise and glory, honor and dominion of Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of the world!
From all of us at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, we wish you a blessed and merry Christmas.
