# CTSFW Community

## Welcome Home

CTSFW is a thriving community where students, faculty, staff, and families interact
daily. Frequent on-campus events keep students and their families engaged in the
life of the campus and in Christian fellowship with fellow Lutherans.

#### Coffee Hour

Join classmates and faculty members daily after chapel for fellowship and coffee.

#### Gemütlichkeit

Spend time at the end of the week in fellowship with students, faculty, and seminary
families during the academic year.

#### Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) of Concordia Theological Seminary fosters
the spiritual, academic, and physical welfare of the students and their families
by funding and supporting seminary community events and the Seminary Women’s Assembly(
SWA), facilitating intramurals, distributing devotional booklets during Lent and
Advent, and publishing _Cornerstone_, a biannual student publication.

#### ToastPastors

Speaking is what pastors do, above all—not only preaching and teaching, but also
greeting, directing, chairing, and generally being “on.” ToastPastors at CTSFW provides
experience, encouragement, and low-stress (ungraded) coaching for a variety of public
speaking settings based on the model of Toastmasters International.

#### Seminary Women’s Assembly

This group of student wives and deaconess students encourages friendship among the
women of campus through classes and social activities. Learn more on the [Spouses and Families](https://www.ctsfw.edu/admission/campus-life/spouses-families/)
page.

#### Special Events

Throughout the year, CTSFW hosts special events for students, their families, and
the seminary community, including a Christmas Marketplace, Community Recital, Chili
Cookoff, and an International Food Festival. Our [Seminary Guild](https://www.ctsfw.edu/about/who-we-are/the-seminary-guild/)
also hosts receptions, recognizes student birthdays, gives gifts to newborns, and
provides snacks during finals.
