Fort Wayne, Ind. (CTSFW)—The Good Shepherd Institute of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW), is once again calling for entries to their upcoming art exhibit. “This will be our third biennial exhibition,” the Rev. Dr. Paul J. Grime, Dean of the Chapel and Co-Director of the Good Shepherd Institute, said. “We’re particularly excited to open the show five weeks earlier than in the past in order for the exhibition to coincide with a special celebration of the festival of St. Michael and All Angels—a feast day that has been celebrated among Lutherans since the time of the Reformation—which occurs on September 29.”

Titled “With Angels and Archangels,” artists are invited to submit works to the 2019 exhibit that depict the ministry of the angels. Rather than modern, popular interpretations, entries should represent distinctly biblical portrayals of the angels, good examples of which can be found in Genesis 3, 1 Kings 19, Isaiah 6, Matthew 1, Luke 1 and 2, and Revelation 12. Artists are not limited to these examples; “angels and archangels” in the Proper Preface and other such references may also serve as subjects for consideration.

The exhibit will be located in The Wayne and Barbara Kroemer Library from September 28, 2019 through January 31, 2020. All entries are due by June 8, 2019. To download an entry form and learn more about eligible media and other requirements for entry consideration, go to www.ctsfw.edu/Angels.
