Controversy in the Missouri Synod in the 1960s and 1970s

August 1, 2022-August 5, 2022


This course is an examination and analysis of the
discord within The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in
the 1960s and 1970s with attention to doctrinal issues
and church-political developments in the Synod.
Discussion will track the historical events leading up to
the controversy and its aftermath, with a focus on
topics such as the interpretation of Scripture,
confessional subscription, ecumenical relations, polity,
and addressing controversy in the church.

 

Schedule:
You may check into your cabin, set up RV or tent no sooner than 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The week begins with 8:00 a.m. breakfast on Monday and concludes with lunch at noon on Friday.

A complete detailed schedule will be sent out by the coordinator after registration.
