Come join us in celebrating Concordia Theological Seminary’s 177th Commencement in Kramer Chapel on the campus of CTSFW Friday, May 19, at 4:00 p.m.
The Commencement speaker is Dr. Leo S. Mackay Jr., senior vice president of Ethics and Enterprise Assurance for Lockheed Martin Corporation and vice chair of the CTSFW Board of Regents. Mackay is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a Secretary of the Navy Distinguished Midshipman Graduate, an honor that recognizes midshipmen who demonstrate the highest standards of leadership, scholarship, and military performance. A graduate of the Navy’s “Topgun” Fighter Weapons School, Mackay served three years flying the F-14 fighter jet. He is a veteran of Operation Earnest Will, the American military protection of Kuwaiti-owned oil tankers during the Iraq-Iran War of the late 1980s. He earned a master’s degree and doctorate in public policy from Harvard University and was a Kennedy Fellow, Harvard MacArthur Scholar, Graduate Prize Fellow, and a Research Fellow at the Center for Science and International Affairs.
Mackay, along with several others, will also be honored at Commencement. 2023 honorees include:
- Mr. Walter C. Dissen, Doctor of Laws, Honoris Causa
- Dr. Leo S. Mackay Jr., Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa
- Rev. Daniel E. Conrad (CTSFW 1984), Alumnus of the Year
- Mrs. Charlotte Ford, Miles Christi Award (Soldier of Christ)
- Mr. Dwight and Mrs. Sherry Puls, Miles Christi Award (Soldier of Christ)
