Chaplain Candidate Scholarship Program

Concordia Theological Seminary (CTSFW) is pleased to offer this scholarship in partnership with the Chaplain Candidate program of the U.S. military.  CTSFW reserves the right to limit the number scholarships awarded per year and may limit the total award amount based upon a student’s institutional aid package.  This scholarship will be given only to qualified applicants who must re-apply again each year for consideration.  Applicants must be enrolled full-time in the M.Div. program and be admitted into the U.S. military Chaplain Candidate program.  Should a selected applicant for this scholarship fail to be admitted into the U.S. military’s Chaplain Candidate program within 120-days of matriculation, the student will forfeit scholarship eligibility. Additionally, this scholarship will not be awarded to students who no longer serve in the Chaplain Candidate program.  Selected students must maintain good academic standing and remain in the Chaplain Candidate program for the duration of the scholarship.  The student shall submit documented proof to the CTSFW Financial Aid Office that he has been admitted into the U.S. military Chaplain Candidate program.

Chaplain CSIF (Church, State & Industry Foundation) Scholarship

 A scholarship for those seeking to be called to serve as a Military Chaplain in any of the Armed Forces of the United States of America in any status – Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserve. The purpose and intent of the Chaplain CSIF scholarship is three-fold: 1) to encourage seminarians to become Military Chaplain Candidates, 2) to financially recognize Candidates who have stayed the course and are just now becoming fully commissioned Chaplains, and 3) to encourage qualified civilian clergy to become newly accessioned Military Chaplains.

Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance Scholarship

Applicants include: 1) those who have battled cancer at any point in their lives (not limited to mesothelioma); 2) those who have a parent, sibling, immediate family member, or close friend who has battled or is battling cancer. Scholarship application requirements: 1) must be enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year university, community college, junior college, or a graduate degree program; 2) this scholarship is offered nationwide to United States citizens; 3) students must be in academic “Good Standing” and have a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher to be eligible. The Department of Religious Studies at the University of Iowa is pleased to announce that it will be taking applications for the annual Myron J. Walker Scholarship. The Walker Scholarship is awarded to Iowa residents planning to pursue a career in the ministry or rabbinate. Our Savior Lutheran Church (Granbury, TX) Seminary Scholarship

The purpose of the Our Savior Lutheran Church Seminary Scholarship is to aid those who are preparing for service as pastors in the LCMS and is limited to full-time students entering the second or fourth years of the traditional Master of Divinity four-year program. The Gil and Blondie Vogt Scholarship Fund is designed to assist Nebraska District students preparing for LCMS church vocations at any LCMS university or seminary. An applicant for this scholarship must be a current resident of Nebraska; a member of an LCMS congregation; pursuing educational training in preparation for an LCMS-related vocational position; attend a LCMS college, university or seminary; demonstrate a substantial financial need; and must not be in a vicarage year at seminary.
