Introduction to the New Testament (New Testament Bible, PRSB 101) begins where Introduction to the Old Testament left off.  Build on the same structure as our Introduction to the Old Testament class, the course helps you to understand the background of the books of the New Testament.

The introductory units focus on issues  unique to the New Testament. You will learn about issues related to the reliability of the New Testament, the background of first century Judaism, the dating of the birth and death of Jesus and similar issues.

As with the Introduction to the Old Testament class, the heart of the class is in online discussion. Each week every student is given a topic. You will kick off the discussion for the group and the rest of the class — including the course manager and instructor will chime in to keep discussions going. The same quiz and test structure as the Old Testament course is used here. Finally, you will have an opportunity to tell the story of salvation in your words — blog style.

This course is designed for those planning to attend the seminary as a Master of Divinity or Alternate Route student.  To fulfill the New Testament and Old Testament Bible pre-seminary requirements, this course must be taken no more than four years before the student matriculation date in either program.

This course is also open to those interested in furthering their knowledge of the Old and New Testaments. This course could also possibly be transferred into an undergraduate degree program. Prior approval of the receiving institution is recommended.
