Χαίρετε ἐν κυρίῳ πάντοτε· πάλιν ἐρῶ, χαίρετε.
There may be no better initiation into the community at Concordia Theological Seminary than taking the Rev. Dr. John Nordling’s Fundamental Greek Grammar class, during which students will learn this verse (Philippians 4:4) intimately through song. Five days a week for 10 weeks, Dr. Nordling’s students sing Philippians 4:4. By the end of this intensive, 12 credit hour class, students will confidently read and translate 1 John, and will be well-equipped to read and translate the entire Greek New Testament, making them thoroughly prepared for the demands of a seminary education in which every class incorporates the Greek text.
This course is designed for the student who has no instruction in Greek and will fulfill the Seminary’s pre-seminary requirement.
But it all begins with Χαίρετε ἐν κυρίῳ πάντοτε· πάλιν ἐρῶ, χαίρετε (Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I say, rejoice!)
