Some citation styles come pre-installed in Zotero, like Chicago, APA, and MLA. CTSFW Students, however, are required to use Turabian, which is a subset of Chicago style specifically for writing research papers, theses, and dissertations. A style for Turabian 9th edition has not been released for Zotero yet. Until this new style is released, CTSFW students may use the CTSFW Turabian style developed by the library staff.

To get started, download and unzip the CTSFW Turabian style.

 Download CTSFW Turabian Style

Once you have the CTSFW Turabian Style unzipped, open Zotero and go to Edit > Preferences, then click on the “Cite” icon to see a list of all the styles you currently have installed. Below the list of styles, look for the link called “Get additional styles…” and select the button with the plus sign to the right of it.

Navigate to the file on your computer and select it. CTSFW – Turabian Style should now appear in your style manager and be available for use.

If there are other citation styles that you would like to use, click the “Get additional styles…” link and either search or browse for the style you want. For example, to add the SBL style, search for “Society of Biblical Literature.” Clicking a style name in your search results will automatically add it to your style manager, and that style will be available for use.
