Calihan Academic Fellowship - Acton Institute
The Calihan Academic Fellowships provide scholarships and research grants to future scholars and religious leaders whose academic work shows outstanding potential. Applicants studying theology, philosophy, economics, or related fields must demonstrate the potential to advance understanding in the relationship between theology and the principles of the free and virtuous society. Eligibility: Awards are open to seminarians or graduate students in theology, philosophy, religion, economics, or in related fields. Strong academic performance is essential.
Church Mutual Cares Scholarship
The CM CARES Religious Scholars Program offers 25 scholarships of $2,500 each for the 2023-24 academic year. Applications will be accepted from February 6 through April 3, 2023.

Ethnic Minority Scholarship
Scholarship funds for ethnic minorities are available at CTSFW, in particular for African American, Asian and Hispanic students who are preparing for church work service in the LCMS. Please submit the required application form. Further documentation may be required in some cases.

LLL California-Nevada-Hawaii District Scholarship
The Lutheran Laymen’s League of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District Student Aid fund provides additional financial resources for persons who fully intend to enter the ministry (deaconess of pastoral ministry) of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. LWML Indiana District Scholarship
The LWML of the Indiana District has scholarships for men and women preparing for full-time church work in the LCMS (pastor, teacher, DCE, deaconess, etc.). To qualify, a student must be a communicant member of a congregation in the LCMS in the Indiana District for at least 18 months. He/she must attend an LCMS synodical school with approved enrollment. Scholarships are issued for a period of one year. A new application must be made each year.

LWML Iowa East District Scholarship
The LWML Iowa East District (IED) has grant money available for seminary students, including deaconess students, who belong to a congregation in the Iowa East District. This is also available to those in their vicarage or internship year. The deadline for submission of the application is May 1.

LWML Missouri District Scholarship
Men and women who are members of a congregation located in the Missouri District of the LCMS, English and SELC District Congregations of the LCMS located in Missouri (12 months prior to filing an application) that are preparing for full-time professional work in the LCMS and who are enrolled in a University or Seminary of the LCMS full-time may apply.

The LWML Nebraska South District has scholarships available through its Mite Box Program in the amount of $500 per student per academic year. The applicant must be from the Nebraska South District, enrolled as a full time student in a LCMS affiliated school, and must plan to be in full-time professional church work upon completion of studies.

LWML Wyoming District Scholarship
The LWML of the Wyoming District offers several scholarships to students who are members of the Wyoming District of the LCMS and will be attending a LCMS school studying for full-time church work.

Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance Scholarship
Applicants include: 1) those who have battled cancer at any point in their lives (not limited to mesothelioma); 2) those who have a parent, sibling, immediate family member, or close friend who has battled or is battling cancer. Scholarship application requirements: 1) must be enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year university, community college, junior college, or a graduate degree program; 2) this scholarship is offered nationwide to United States citizens; 3) students must be in academic “Good Standing” and have a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher to be eligible. The award amount is $4,000 to a student who has dealt with cancer, personally or within their family, in an effort to help them further their education. Deadlines occur twice a year in March and December.

St. John's College Alumni Association
Offered to St. John’s College alumni and former faculty members and their sons, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters. The application deadline for the next academic year is April 1. To be eligible for consideration for an award, applicants must return their applications by mail postmarked on or before April 1; if returned by fax, applications must be received at the Association’s office on or before April 1.

The Gil and Blondie Vogt Scholarship Fund
The Gil and Blondie Vogt Scholarship Fund is designed to assist Nebraska District students preparing for LCMS church vocations at any LCMS university or seminary. An applicant for this scholarship must be a current resident of Nebraska; a member of an LCMS congregation; pursuing educational training in preparation for an LCMS-related vocational position; attend a LCMS college, university or seminary; demonstrate a substantial financial need; and must not be in a vicarage year at seminary.
Requests for an application can be made after January 1 for the following school year. Application Deadline is April 15.

William J. Wolf Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is to assist with the college or graduate-level education of students of Lutheran denomination.
Eligibility: Have a residence in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,
be a member of the Lutheran denomination and maintain a GPA of 2.00.
To apply, complete an application form, which includes an essay, an unofficial school transcript and two letters of reference.

Wischer Scholarship
The Irene S. Wischer Education Foundation Scholarship is a renewable scholarship award, and the value is based on the applicant’s demonstrated financial need (not to exceed $11,000 per academic year). The length of renewal eligibility will be commensurate with the length of the student’s course of study.
To apply for an Irene S. Wischer Education Foundation Scholarship, you must:
a) be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student, or part- or full-time graduate student
b) be a citizen of the United States of America
c) be a legal resident of the state of Texas for 12 consecutive months before application submission
d) be a person of good character. Per Mrs. Wischer’s instructions, preference will be given to “applicants who are Christians and attend church regularly.”
e) demonstrate academic potential and ability (not merely academic performance)
f) demonstrate financial need
