Upcoming Events at CTSFW—April 2019

Ice melts off the Kramer Chapel Lake as spring arrives.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (CTSFW)—Check out the upcoming events offered by Concordia Theological Seminary (CTSFW), 6600 N. All events take place in Kramer Chapel, except for the upcoming Kantorei Tour in Michigan, and are open to the public. Only the Easter Evening Prayer service on April 28 will be livestreamed at www.ctsfw.edu/daily-chapel and www.facebook.com/ctsfw. The rest will need to be attended in person.

Prayerfully Consider Campus Visit
March 21–23
This free, three-day campus visit runs twice a year (once in the spring and again in the fall) and is open to both second-career men and women as well as to college students considering a future vocation as a pastor or deaconess. Visitors will stay in the dorms, eat in the dining hall, attend classes, and explore campus, experiencing life as a seminary student. Spouses and fiancés/fiancées are also welcome at no cost.

Golf Outing
May 15, 10:30 a.m.–5:45 p.m. at Riverbend Golf Course in Fort Wayne. Open to pastors, alumni, lay leaders, and local congregation members for a cost of $20 each, with a $5 discount for clergy. Register online at www.ctsfw.edu/Alumni.

Alumni Reunion

Continuing Education
Registration will open soon for the continuing education courses offered at sites across the country, covering a variety of subjects taught by faculty from CTSFW and other theologians. Church Interpreter Training Institute
June 13–16
Instruction in American Sign Language for trained interpreters, church members, and professional church workers to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Deaf people. Summer learning retreat for theologically-minded men in high school. The retreat is currently about two-thirds full, so those interested should apply soon.

Summer learning retreat for theologically-minded women in high school. Space is limited with only a handful of spots still open. Those interested should apply soon.

Basic Level Organists and Service Playing for Pianists
June 17–21
This workshop will provide basic training on how the organ works, choosing appropriate registrations, pedal playing, and how to lead the singing of hymns and liturgy through effective playing. Pianists will learn the same leadership concepts on the piano.
Cost: $275, which includes five lunches and four dinners (breakfast available for purchase each morning for $6); on-campus housing available for an additional $100 (four nights) or $125 (five nights)

Intermediate and Advanced Level Organists
June 24–28
Workshop topics will include creative hymn introductions, making informed choices about organ repertoire, and strategies for leading challenging hymns. At this level of playing and experience, instruction is customized to the abilities of each student.
Cost: $275, which includes five lunches and four dinners (breakfast available for purchase each morning for $6); on-campus housing available for an additional $100 (four nights) or $125 (five nights)
