Lenten Preaching Workshop
January 20, 2020
“Christ’s Work of Creation and Re-Creation” with Dr. Don Wiley will explore some of the parallelism between the days of creation and the events of Holy Week, with a view to Christocentric, Gospel-directed Lenten and Holy Week preaching from Ash Wednesday through Resurrection Sunday.

2020 Symposia Series
January 21–24, 2020
The annual four-day Symposia Series is technically made up of two symposias, one on exegetical theology and the other on the Lutheran Confessions. This year’s topics will cover “The Cross, the Atonement, and the Wrath of God” and “Ecclesiology: Locating Confessional Boundaries,” respectively.
Cost: $150 until November 30, which includes lunch; price increases to $180 on December 1. There is an optional reception and banquet for an additional $40.

Christ Academy Confirmation Retreat
February 21–23, 2020
Each confirmation retreat focuses on one of the six chief parts of Luther’s Small Catechism, with catechetical session plus fun evening events and two nights in the dorms. Pastors are encouraged to attend with their confirmation class.
Cost: $110 per individual (catechumen or chaperone), which includes room and board
Register by emailing ChristAcademy@ctsfw.edu with the number of male and female students, their t-shirt sizes, and number of chaperones. Payment can be made by calling the Seminary’s cashier or by bringing a check to the retreat.

Prayerfully Consider Visit
April 2–4, 2020
Prospective student campus visit event for men and women in college or older, interested in learning more about becoming a pastor or deaconess. Registration is free and includes both room and board. Spouses and fiancés/fiancées welcome.

Basic Level Organists and Service Playing for Pianists Workshop
June 15–19
This workshop will provide basic training on how the organ works, choosing appropriate registrations, pedal playing, and how to lead the singing of hymns and liturgy through effective playing. Pianists will learn the same leadership concepts on the piano.

Intermediate and Advanced Level Organist Workshop
June 22–26
Workshop topics will include creative hymn introductions, making informed choices about organ repertoire, and strategies for leading challenging hymns. At this level of playing and experience, instruction is customized to the abilities of each student.
